IFATSEA is pleased to announce the appointment of Carlos Aguirre as Director for the Americas. Mr Aguirre replaces Mr Chuck Siragusa who recently retired from FAA and the IFATSEA Executive Board.
Mr Aguirre began his career with the Federal Aviation Administration in 1983 as an engineering aide and draftsman. In 1986, he became an HVAC and Power Systems Engineer at the NY Regional Office. In 1997 he moved to the Miami Air Route Transportation Center (ARTCC), becoming an Air Transportation System Specialist (ATSS). In 2009, Mr. Aguirre began working at the National Operations Control Center (NOCC), providing oversight of technical operations for high impact airports and facilities.
Throughout his career as an ATSS, Mr. Aguirre has been active as a member of the Professional Aviation Safety Specialists (PASS) most recently taking on the role of Regional Assistant in PASS Region I.
Mr. Aguirre holds a Bachelors of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Pratt Institute.
