IFATSEA is pleased to announce the appointment of Patrick Delaney as chair of IFATSEA’s ICAO Liaison Committee and liaison officer to ICAO.
Patrick began his career in 1983 when he enlisted in the United States Coast Guard as an Electronics Technician. His primary duties included supporting shipboard radar and communications systems. In 1988, after an honorable discharge, he left the Coast Guard and accepted a position working with United Airlines as an Avionics Technician. During his fifteen years with United Airlines he became a licensed Aircraft Technician and the Avionics Lead. When United downsized their workforce in 2003, Patrick joined Bombardier Aerospace as an Avionics Technician and Aircraft Quality Control Inspector. In 2006. Patrick joined the Federal Aviation Administration in the role as an ATSEP, maintaining radar and automation systems. He is currently working at Phoenix SkyHarbor TRACON, with the primary responsibility of maintaining terminal radar, surface movement radar and STARS terminal automation system.
Patrick is a member of the Professional Aviation Safety Specialists (PASS) and is a contract representative for ATSEP’s in the State of Arizona. In 2013 he graduated from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University with a Bachelors of Aeronautical Science and is currently working towards his Masters of Aeronautical Science specializing in Aviation Safety and Human Factors. Since 2014, Patrick has worked on a team with IFATSEA and ICAO creating the ATSEP training manual. Patrick has over 27 years in his aviation career and he continues to be dedicated to safety in our skies.
